The Eternal Perspective of Zion’s Camp

The history of Zion’s Camp covers only a five month period from the latter part of January until the first part of August 1834. A band of 200 men marched toward Jackson County, Missouri, with the intention of helping their fellows reclaim the land from which they had been ejected by mobs and the local government. Although no fighting ever took place, the value of the experiences and the intended results are still strongly felt in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today. Zion’s Camp was a catalyst for the early saints’ development, and continues to be an example for people alive today. This book is the result of many years of teaching and research. Aside from its historical importance, it is a great tool in helping people understand what an eternal perspective is, and how to get it. The experiences of those involved in Zion’s Camp present us with excellent examples to follow in our own lives. Gaining an eternal perspective is to learn what truth is and then have the determination to follow it.
