Nephites were Dying of a Seasonal Fever and they Treated it with an Herbal Remedy

Mike LaFontaine, Dana Young and Kevin Price at the Zarahemla Temple Site near Montrose, Iowa. In August 2020 scientists collected plants where Native Americans 16 centuries ago grew and harvested Spotted Beebalm (Monarda punctata var. villicaulis; Medicinal herb). Essential oils from the plants are used for the treatment of fevers and diseases. The plants connect to an ancient people who had a highly developed civilization on the rivers and the lakes of the Heartland of America. The seeds are so small, but their connection is so large.

Re-Discovered Nephite Plant? Alma 46:40

“For thousands of years Native Americans have used herbs to not only heal the body but, also to purify the spirit and bring balance into their lives and their surroundings. Oral traditions indicate that they learned about the healing powers of herbs and other plants by watching sick animals. No written records of herbal use have been found yet by the indigenous people of America prior to the first contact between Europeans and the tribes. This changed, however as Native Americans shared their knowledge of how to use nature’s medicines with the new settlers. The discovery of Spotted beebalm has led to a renewed interest in it healing powers. One of its compounds, thymol if discovered today, it would be a prescription drug.

Native Bee Balm

Thymol is one of two chemicals in the Spotted beebalm, the other being carvacrol; which prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine, the stuff that makes memory possible. One of the symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease is reduction in acetylcholine. Unlike a drug now used to prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine — tacrine hydrochloride — thymol and carvacrol are not rough on the liver.

Medicinal use of Spotted beebalm traditionally by several native North American Indian tribes to treat nausea and vomiting, and to encourage perspiration during colds. It was also applied externally as a poultice to treat swellings and rheumatic pains. Nowadays it is used primarily to treat digestive and upper respiratory tract problems. The leaves are carminative, diaphoretic, diuretic, emmenagogue, rubefacient, stimulant, stomachic and vesicant.

The essential oil distilled this year was added to 6 other life changing essential oil Thyme (red),

Frankincense (serrata), Cabreuva, Eucalyptus (globules), Copaiba and Ravensara creating a synergy called Zara Thym. This powerful synergy is one of the most powerful but gentle essential oil blends created.

During the first presentation on Spotted beebalm in the afternoon of September 24th, Dr. Kevin Price, a plant ecologist/botanist, will discuss the plant and its discovery on the Zarahemla Temple site near Montrose, Iowa and directly across the Mississippi River (River Sidon) from the Nauvoo temple and how this plant is likely one of those spoken of by Alma as recorded in the Book of Mormon in Alma 46:40.  Alma tells how the plant was used to treat diseases particularly a season fever (probably Malaria) that was seasonal in the US, but not seasonal in MesoAmerica.

In the evening of September 24th, Dana Young, Founder and President of Be Young Total Health will give the second talk on Spotted beebalm. During his presentation he will bring his 25 years of experience in the essential oils business to bear on the plant and how the Zara thym™  essential oil blend was formulated to address  a wide variety of health challenges that reaches far beyond even the realms of the Spotted beebalm alone.” Dana Young, Founder Be Young Health

“Notice from the Book of Mormon (text inserted below) we learn the Lord prepared plants to cure diseases that plagued the Nephites. I believe the plagues to be released in the last days are upon us. The American Frontline Doctors tell us the most effective treatment against Covid is Hydroxychloroquine. It is what was given to President Trump when he got Covid, and he was better in hours. I used hydroxychloroquine when in Africa and a friend that was only hours from dying of Malaria was threated with it and recovered quickly.

Below we see the Nephites were dying of a seasonal fever that they treated with an herbal remedy found in their area. Alma was living in Zarahemla when he wrote the words below.  Malaria killed more LDS members across the river in Nauvoo than any other cause of death.  Malaria was a seasonal disease in Nauvoo area because it is carried by mosquitos that only attack in the summer.  Malaria is NOT a seasonal disease in Mesoamerica where you can contract it all year long. We know from the literature that the essential oils of Spotted Beebalm kills Malaria too. The essential oil that is compared to Hydroxychloroquine in the attached video was found in a plant growing on the Zarahemla Temple site across the river from Nauvoo. After reading the words below, watch the video and rejoice and ask yourself if the Lord has delivered protection to those who listen and believe?” Kevin Price PhD, Biogeography

40 And there were some who died with fevers, which at some seasons of the year were very frequent in the land—but not so much so with fevers, because of the excellent qualities of the many plants and roots which God had prepared to remove the cause of diseases, to which men were subject by the nature of the climate—

41 But there were many who died with old age; and those who died in the faith of Christ are happy in him, as we must needs suppose.

“The molecule drawing Bruce Lloyd found is the same molecule as the one in Dana’s video. It is just drawn in a simpler method. This is only one of the 56 active molecules Dana found in the spotted beebalm. As he has added more to the blend, there will be even more active molecules.

When I taught nursing students in College Biology Majors class, we went over molecular structure. Here are some basic principles. Cells don’t have eyes and can’t select molecules to work with based on sight. – Instead molecules are selected based on their shape. – Shape is everything.

Molecules interact with each other because of shape. – On the molecules there are specific shapes on part of the molecule that are the active sites. – Cells have protein molecules on their cell membrane (protective barrier) that sit and wait for appropriate molecules for the cell to work with. These proteins have receptor shapes that match the molecules they recognize, like a lock waiting for the exact matching key shape to activate it.- when the active molecules travelling in body fluid run into a cell, they are recognized by the shapes on the cell membrane receptor proteins.- each active molecule (like a key) has its own exact protein receptor (lock) waiting for it. – different types of cells use different active molecules. Each cell has specific receptor proteins for the exact molecules it needs to use.

So cells recognize molecules based on shape. Active molecules do their jobs by interacting with other molecules – this is based on the shapes of the molecules as well. So shape of a molecule really is all-important.  This is why Dana was excited about the shape of the particular molecules he was showing in the video.

Even if the total shape does not completely match in absolute exactness – what matter is that the shapes of the active sites on the molecules are exact. The cell receptor proteins are looking to match exactly to the active sites. This is why morphine works as a pain killer. It does not exactly match the entire shape of an endorphin (feel good molecules released when we exercise). But morphine’s active site does match the exact shape of an endorphin’s active site. So the cell receptor protein (who is just waiting for the exact shape of the active site) responds to both molecules the same.

Anyway, enjoy your day everyone. That was our biology ‘fun with molecules’ message for the day”☺️.Melissa Tillack

Neil Heiselbetz

Hello Dr. Kevin Price,

I am writing to inform you of an experience my family and I had while visiting Nauvoo on our own church history trip this July 2021.  I have been following the work you and your Heartland colleagues have been doing, in your attempt to uncover the most exact location of the ancient city Zarahemla, and in particular, the temple site.

I have always felt, from a young age, that the events of the Book of Mormon took place in the North American Heartland.  Increasingly, I have also wondered why the church has kept a largely neutral stance as to where the likely geographical location is.  I have wished they would make a declaration on this because of how strongly I feel that time, location, and place truly matter to the process of gaining greater understanding and testimony of gospel principle and practice, historically as well as in modern times.

So, I made an intentional effort to take my family to the proposed Zarahemla temple site while we were at Nauvoo.  We are from Panaca, Nevada.  So, we  you can appreciate how driving that entire distance with a family of six in TWO days helped us appreciate the comforts of modern transportation, and not having to rely solely on a “ lumbering” Ox.

To keep this short, we visited the temple site on July 16th.  I explained to my wife and kids what the temple site might have looked like when the Nephites were there, and looking through the gap in the trees we could see the Nauvoo temple.  Such an awesome experience!  We found the Spotted Bee Balm growing on the sandy berm.  It was just before sunset, and the entire area was quiet and peaceful.  My kids made the comment that these grounds felt very similar to the Nauvoo temple grounds, and we sensed a solemn sacredness tied to the surroundings.

We sampled a couple of the Bee Balm plants, and put a couple stems in a ziplock baggie.  They made the trip back home with us…all intact.  We ran the entire plant, stems, the blossoms and all through our food dehydrator.  We then broke them up into finer parts that we could use to steep in a tea.  Well, my wife and kids just went through a bout of upper respiratory infections that my kids brought home from school.  My oldest daughter was the only one who didn’t drink the bee balm tee.  Guess who is still  not feeling well?  Yep, my oldest daughter…who refused to drink it.  Everyone else recovered and had no related symptoms in half the amount of time it usually takes to run its course. So, we are now 100% believers that there is something truly magical about this plant…we just wish we had more.  (How can I get  seeds?)

I thought you and your team would appreciate hearing this story of ours.  We are eager to see what the future holds for the research you are doing, and want you to know that there are folks cheering you on all across the heartland, hoping to see what more will spring from the ground through your efforts. Thanks for the energy and time you and your team have devoted to this worthy cause.”

Sincerely, Neil Heiselbetz Nevada

WHO ARE WE?

Our journey started in 1995 when Dana Young began his scientific discovery into the world of alternative medicine and essential oils. After years of personal study and training with the leading experts and authorities of alternative medicine and essential oils, he was able to glean a broad understanding of the chemistry and science of essential oils. Dana is one of the very few people in the world who has been involved with every aspect of essential oil production. Because of this, he has extensive knowledge of the importance of the seed selection, propagation, cultivation, harvesting, distillation, and quality testing of essential oils. Dana provides a unique and robust understanding of essential oils that no other essential oil provider in the industry can offer. His knowledge and background of these medicinal plants provide Be Young with the highest quality essential oils on the market.

THE HARSH REALITY.
At the beginning of our journey, we were turnkey manufacturer, educator, and supplier of pure and high-quality essential oils. We offered our services on the contingency that the purity and quality would never be asked to be compromised. If it ever were, it would be an immediate means of a violation of the contract. However, not a single one of the several companies we provided our service for did not violate their agreement. With this experience, we set out to offer products under our conditions, with our commitment to purity and quality without compromise, and in 2009 Be Young Essential Oils was born.

MUCH MORE THAN ESSENTIAL OILS.
Today, Be Young has evolved into a Total Health company. With the understanding that there is no silver bullet to health. It is an integrative approach and knowledge of the core barriers that prevent the body from feeling as good as it is designed to feel. Due to this understanding, Dana has partnered with talented industry professionals to bring aspects of nutrition, diet, cleanses, home and house care, beauty within, beauty without, and of course essential oils to combat the daily fight our body faces against these core barriers.

QUALITY & PURITY.
The same principles that governed our company in the beginning still guide us today. Because of our commitment to pure, all-natural, clean, and life-restoring products, Be Young has remained a debt-free company to prevent outside influencers from gaining control and compromising the product line. This means you will never find within any of our products any synthetic ingredients, harsh fillers, or artificial colors and flavorings. Be Young only provides a product that is used first in our family, then we offer it to you.” Dana Young

Abstract
In July of 2020, while touring the Zarahemla Temple Site across the Mississippi River (Sidon River) from the Nauvoo Temple with Wayne May, we noticed a aromatic mint plant dominating a sandy berm.  Further investigation found the plant to be Monarda punctata var. villicaulis (Spotted Beebalm). Scientific papers indicate this plant has multiple medicinal values and Native Americans have used it for centuries to treat a variety of illnesses.

The essential oils from the plant were extracted by Dana Young, Founder and President of Be Young Total Health and taken to the Aromatic Plant

Research Center where gas chromatograph/mass spectrometry testing revealed the essential oil contained 56 compounds and rated among the most medicinally powerful plants now known.

Scientific papers have reported that the compounds in this plant are highly effective in the treatment of antibiotic resistant bacteria like those being studied for biological warfare, viruses, fungus, and parasites including Malaria – that killed more members of the LDS church in Nauvoo than any other cause of death and it is a seasonal disease because it is a mosquito-borne diseases. The disease described in Alma 46:40 was a season fever just like Malaria in the US, but not Mesoamerica. This plant has medicinal values that may be very important in a world of great uncertainty where many of our medicines are controlled by nations hostile to the US.”

“We Shall Remain” Native American Celebration

Mike and Betty LaFontaine

Mike and Betty LaFontaine who live in Jacksonville, Florida have been on many explorations with Dr. Price and have been witnesses to the amazing discoveries. From Nauvoo, the LaFontaine’s went home to Florida and soon began finding Native Bee Balm many places near their home. They were amazed and spoke with Dr. Price about it. It now seems possible according to Dr. Price that the Bee Balm has grown around many of the locations that follow the path of the ancient Hopewell Culture who began existence in 600 BC near Tallahassee Florida and the Hopewell people traveled north to Tennessee and to Iowa to Missouri to Ohio and finally in New York near Cumorah. The Hopewell Culture went extinct about 450 AD. This is according to many of today’s archaeologists and Historians. See my blog here which talks about the parallel paths of the Nephites and Hopewell Culture.

Betty “Red Ant” LaFontaine

“Did I ever tell you all are find here in Florida??

After Kevin [Price] discovered the Beebalm on Zarahemla that summer Mike and I went up there for a heartland research gathering. Kevin explained what Spotted bee-balm was. Mike and I both felt it was did divinely found.Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida Acres of Bee Balm

I have always believed in natural medicines after all they are a part of my Native Culture. After the find at the Temple site on Iowa, I went to the Ponte Vedra beach one day and found the beebalm plant growing on the dunes! Since then we have found it growing within a 1/2 mile from our home. It surrounds our home area. And grows here in some areas of Florida year round. Our belief is Lehi brought his family – from the East bringing with them this medicinal plant and maybe others.

Mike and I are making tincture and oils out of this plant. It has been helpful to our friends and family. It is here for our use, and was brought here in ancient times. Native Americans have used it for years!” Betty LaFontaine

Mike and Betty are hosting a huge Native American Celebration the day after Dr. Price and Dana Young speak at the same location, on Sat Sept 25, Mountain America Expo Center.

More Great Stuff

Wayne,

It appears you and a few others are not the only ones who listened to my video discussing the scientific evidences support your location of the Zarahemla Temple Site (see the email below from Tina). I am so grateful that powerful scientific evidence could be brought forward to show the divining rods are not fake and that the science supports the location you designated. I have been getting multiple contacts today about the Spotted Beebalm and the Temple Site.  I did not need the science to prove it to me.  The Spirit told me loud and clear that you were right on, but the scientific evidence helps confirm it to others, but the scientific evidence will be challenged, but those who have been told by the Spirit need no more evidence.  There is NOT enough scientific evidence to ever convince some that the site is right, but listen to the worlds of a family that walked on the Temple Site and had the Spirit declare it as a sacred site. If we were only allowed to talk about what we can prove scientifically, we might as well quit now.  I spent over 30 years doing scientific research and have never proven anything.

To those who seek to know, the Lord reveals much.

Dear Dr. Price,

I watched your You Tube video last night and really enjoyed it.  I was there participating in the 2015 dig, so recognized some of the photos you used.

It’s wonderful how you were able to confirm scientifically what Wayne found, especially since we were somewhat disappointed during the dig.  We could tell it was different sand than the surrounding soil, but hoped to find something more solid.

I am moving to Nauvoo temporarily next month and will be there for Wayne’s November activity on the site.  Perhaps you will be there and we can meet.

Regards, Tina

From Dr. Price to Rian Nelson

“I know you read the letter sent to me last night by Neil Heiselbetz about their visit to the Zarahemla Temple Site and the spirit their family felt on the site.

Neil sent me a picture of the Spotted beebalm that they picked and took back to Nevada with them.  It was from this and maybe a bit more of the Spotted beebalm from which they made a tea that was used to treat a bad respiratory infection. The mother and 3 of the children drank a mild tea made from the plant and their cold was quickly gone with no lingering side effects.  The older child refused to drink the tea and had the cold for over a week longer with lingering side effects. It is amazing to me that such a small piece of this plant treated 4 people effectively.”

Best wishes, Kevin Price
