Speaker Terms and Conditions

As a PRESENTER at the FIRM Foundation Expo (including Book of Mormon Evidence Conference, Legacy Research or related events, collectively for this agreement as FFE), PRESENTER agrees to abide by the terms set forth herein.

FFE agrees to provide the opportunity to speak at our event(s), which has a proven track record of bringing thousands of attendees because of FFE’s extensive marketing efforts. This is intended to provide PRESENTER with a broader audience. FFE will provide a screen, projector, A/V system and microphone for use during the presentation.

PRESENTER understands that FIRM Foundation Expo (FFE) makes significant investments in the production of these events and reserves the right to record, reproduce, publish, broadcast and distribute PRESENTERs presentation at the event and that it will be made available to conference attendees during and/or after the event.

In consideration of FFE providing the opportunity to speak and present at its event, PRESENTER hereby grants FFE permission and a perpetual license to: (1) record audio and/or video of PRESENTER at the event, (2) copy, reproduce, publish, and distribute the work in all print and other formats (including but not limited to online publication via FFE’s Websites including, but not limited to bookofmormonevidence.org), (3) and make the proceedings available for distribution during and/or after the event via electronic or other means. FFE asserts that audio/video recordings, photography, and media generated at its events are the property of FFE.

FFE agrees that the above grant of rights does not constitute a transfer of PRESENTERs intellectual property rights and that PRESENTER remains free to present the materials or revised versions thereof at other events or through other media. FFE agrees to provide PRESENTER with appropriate authorship credit and acknowledgment each time it publishes or republishes the work.

FFE is authorized to use PRESENTER’s name, likeness, picture, and biographical material during and after the event to advertise and publicize the work via live broadcast, rebroadcast on a  “virtual” basis and inclusion in DVDs produced by FFE.

PRESENTER acknowledges and agrees that FFE and PRESENTER shall bear their own respective costs. FFE is under no obligation to pay PRESENTER for travel expenses, preparation costs, handouts or for performance of the presentation. PRESENTER hereby grants to FFE permission/license to record, reproduce, publish, and distribute the presentation as set forth above except as stipulated in the following Content Contributor Compensation Agreement.

PRESENTER represents and warrants that PRESENTER is the sole author and owner of the original work and all rights in and to all portions of the aforementioned work; that the work is original; that it does not violate or infringe on any personal or property rights of others, whether common law or statutory; that it contains nothing libelous or otherwise contrary to law. PRESENTER warrants that materials utilized in the presentation without permission are in the public domain or falls under the “fair use” exemption of copyright law which includes use for purpose of criticism, news reporting, commentary, teaching and research. PRESENTER agrees to indemnify and hold harmless FFE, its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from any and all claims of copyright infringement made against them and arising out of the presentation at the event.

PRESENTER understands that members of the media may be present at this event, and that the information PRESENTER presents is for the public record and may be used in articles written about FFE or other media.

PRESENTER will honor attendees by abstaining from offensive humor, foul language or comments that would disparage any individual or group.

FFE and the PRESENTER mutually agree that all parties shall be released from any and all liability or damages hereunder if FFE or the PRESENTER is unable to fulfill the terms of this agreement due to an act of God,  illness or physical disability of the PRESENTER, acts or regulations of public authorities, labor difficulties, civil tumult, strike, epidemic, flood, fire, interruption or delay of transportation, or any other cause beyond  the control of the parties.

By Presenting at any FFE event, PRESENTER acknowledges and gives consent and release to FFE and that FFE is relying on this agreement and release and that said release is irrevocable.
